The foundation particularly supports students with limited financial opportunities or who come from families with an immigrant background.
Grant value / closures: Researchers receive up to € 744 per month. In addition, the fixed monthly tuition fee is € 300, which all researchers are free to use. Depending on the applicant’s situation, researchers may also receive a premium of up to € 71 for health insurance and up to € 15 per month for long-term care insurance. Teachers with children can receive a family grant of 155 euros per month. There is no need to repay the grant.
The Foundation supports stays abroad during the funding period – with grants for travel expenses, tuition fees and international health insurance, especially for study or research periods, language courses and internships of up to 12 months.
Qualifications: Applicants can be German, foreign students with education, or refugee status.
Applicants must be socially involved, for example in active participation in the student council, youth work, participation in associations and voluntary organizations, or in political organizations in accordance with the principles of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. Those who have previously registered with a German university are not eligible.
