US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris has received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine against the novel coronavirus. Harris was vaccinated Tuesday by Patricia Cummings, a clinical nurse manager at United Medical Center, according to the Biden-Harris transition team. In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Harris said, “Today I received the COVID-19 vaccine. I am extremely grateful to our frontline healthcare staff, scientists and researchers for making this moment possible. . “If you can take the vaccine, do this. It’s about saving lives.” Harris’s vaccination, which was also televised live, came almost a week after President-elect Joe Biden received his. After receiving the vaccination, Harris said she wanted to “encourage everyone to get vaccinated. It’s relatively painless. It’s very quick. It’s safe.” The vice president-elect also confirmed that her husband, Doug Emhoff, would receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday, CNN reported.
