Arsenal have finally agreed on a big transfer deal to sign highly rated English / Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White for £50m.
Ben was a late invitee to Gareth Southgate’s England Euro 2020 selected team. Ben White was previously at EPL team, Southampton, before leaving to Brighton on a free transfer.
His starling performances at the just concluded Euro’s 2020 brought him into limelight and also on Arsenal transfer rader.
It completes a meteoric ascent for a 23-year-old released by Southampton at a young age before signing Brighton. He had several loans from Seagulls, including the Leeds championship winning half in 2019-20.
White’s performances previously at Leeds caught the attention of many top European clubs and that got him to get a new four-year deal last summer at Brighton.
This deal put the Logs in a strong negotiating position this summer, and it’s clear they rejected two of the Cannonman’s offer before the deal was finally reached with the interest of other Premier League clubs.
