Who is Eligible for Express Entry
Express Entry is an immigration system implemented by the Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC). To be eligible to apply as a skilled worker you must have these criteria;
You need to prove you have proficient use of English/French
Ensure you have at least one year of experience in your skilled occupation
Completed post-secondary education
Bilingualism in French and English
A Master’s degree or Ph.D. eduction
A Canadian relative living in Canada
Employment from a Canadian company
Although, having these criteria do not guarantee an immediate invitation to apply for Canadian PR. However, they can help increase your chances of being selected.
An Ideal Express Entry Candidate
There is no fixed/definite type of profile that is eligible for Express Entry. Regardless, immigrants entering the pool will receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Consequently, only those of higher ranks will receive an invitation to apply.
Meanwhile, when a candidate scores 67 points and above they are qualified to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).

How much does Express Entry Cost?
Language tests: $300
Medical Examination Fee: $450/adult, $250/child
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA): $200
Government Fee: $1,325/adult & $225/child
Police Clearance Certificates: $100/country
NOTE: It is important to note that if you are not applying under the Canadian Experience Class program or have an employment offer, you will prove you have sufficient funds to support your resettlement in Canada. Although, these fees are not paid to the government you are required to have it. Else, you might not be approved to apply.
How long does Express Entry take
Express Entry can take up to six months to process, from submission of the Express Entry profile to the issuance of a PR visa. Although, it doesn’t apply to all cases. Consequently, the profile will remain active in the pool for 12 months if not already invited.
However, if not invited after 12 months do apply again. As a result, your profile will remain valid after 12 months. However, once you have been issued, you have 90 days to provide the requested full application of the document. Once you have completed the application, the PR visa should be processed in six months.
