These Are All iPad Compatible With IPadOS 15

The WWDC 2021 keynote has come to an end, and with it came the announcements of iOS 15, watchOS 8, macOS Monterey, and iPadOS 15.

When it comes to the iPad, iPadOS 15 may not provide remarkable news in terms of what could be expected for a version that comes to upgrade the recently announced iPad Pro, but it does provide support.

The compatibility with IPadOS 15 is excellent. So much so that the iPad Air 2 now has the longest support of any iOS / iPadOS device. It will be 7 years of support in September, and 8 years of support for features and updates in 2022, when it is likely to be removed off the list. This is a first for mobile devices of this type:

Apple leaves no iPad behind

Apple doesn’t leave any iPad behind with iPadOS 15. It’s not surprising given the new system includes numerous enhancements. However, given that the same thing happens in macOS Monterey, and Apple has left many more than adequate Macs behind, this is astounding. Here’s how the iPad Air 2 will get an extra eight years of support.

There are now devices that are having issues with the third version of iOS that they received after being released, such as the iPhone 4, which has only been on the market for three years and has never had to be updated to iOS 7.

The developer beta is currently available. In July, the public beta will be available to all users who wish to install it, with the final version following in the fall.
