U.S. officials: A suspect in the Nashville bombing dies of a bomb blast

The man suspected of being responsible for the Christmas Day bombings that devastated downtown Nashville blew himself up and appears to have acted alone, federal officials said Sunday. Investigators used DNA and other evidence to link the man identified as Anthony Quinn Warner to the mysterious explosion, but said they had not established a motive. Officials were given hundreds of tips and pointers, but concluded that no one but Warner was involved in the morning explosion, which damaged dozen of buildings and injured three people. “Nashville is considered safe,” said John Drake, police chief of Metro Nashville. “There is no known threat to this city.”
